July 7: pop and R&B singer Kaci Brown is 25-years-old today.

Kaci Deanne Brown was born July 7, 1988 in Zeeland, Michigan. She moved with her family to Sulphur Springs at age 12 in 2001.

Kaci began singing at a very early age. Throughout her youth, she performed across her home state, appearing just about any place that would let her perform.

In 2003, her family moved to Nashville to jumpstart her singing career. However, before attaining a record contract, she had a publishing deal and was writing for country artists.

Initially, she hoped to develop her own career in country music. Instead, she changed her focus to a pop career. By the end of 2005, she had summer touring dates with the Backstreet Boys, in addition to her Interscope-released debut album. by age 17.

Her debut album is titled Instigator, and Kaci co-wrote all but one of the album's songs with producer Toby Gad.

To date, Kaci has charted two singles on the U.S. Dance/Club Play Songs chart.
