Laura Põldvere represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 as part of the girl group Suntribe, an Estonian girl-band, composed entirely of students. The Eurovision Song Contest (Concours Eurovision de la Chanson) is an annual competition held among active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
In the contest, each member country submits a song to be performed on live television and then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine the most popular song.
Laura also took part at "Eurolaul 2007" for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, her entry "Sunflowers" came in third. Since 2000, the Contest has also been broadcast over the Internet.
In September 2007, Laura released here debute album "Muusa" and started studies in Berklee College, Boston U.S., putting her music career on hold. In 2009, she was back by entering the new format Eesti Laul as a solo singer in hopes of representing Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, her entry "Destiny" came third.
In November, 2011, Laura released her first compilation album "Sädemeid taevast," which consisted of all her singles since 2005 to 2011 as well as a track from her second studio album "Sädemeid taevast."
